Newborn Photographer Cypress TX, Curve Balls!

As a new parent, you probably pray every day for the health and safety of your babies; I know I do! We want our children to be well, always. I remember when my kids were babies and they would get sick, my biggest frustration was feeling so helpless not knowing exactly where they were hurting. I worried that they had a tummy ache or ear ache. Listening to a baby cry because of an illness is not easy for any parent.

At one moment, life may seem very normal, then all of a sudden, life throws you a curve ball. Something completely unexpected and you feel totally unprepared to handle. For me, it happened exactly 17 years ago. It was December. My little girl who was 6 years old at the time, was not well. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. She was loosing weight, thirsty, nauseous. It all happened so fast. I took her in to the doctor, he instructed me to take her immediately to the hospital where she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I thought diabetes was something that older people got. Never did I ever imagine how our life would change and hers specifically.

That curve ball was not easy to adjust to, but I needed to do whatever it took to overcome the changes that diagnosis brought because my daughters life depended on it. She is now 23 years old, soon to be married. She is an incredibly responsible young lady. I always say that being diabetic forced her to mature in ways that not every adult can. I am extremely proud of her and how she takes care of herself!
